  • VOTE: On proposal re: Policy on how applicants for approval will address MNC (e.g. license, zoning, new business, etc.) prior to appearing before other City boards and commissions (e.g. License Commission, Planning Board, Historical Commission, etc.)
  • VOTE: On proposal re: Procedure for applicants for said approval from MNC on how to be included on MNC board meeting agenda
  • VOTE: On recommendation for approval of Morini Performance Coatings, 556 St. James Ave., Justin Morini, owner; change in business use
  • CANDIDATES DEBATES: (Greg Hession)
    • Final update and arrangements. Both debates co-sponsored by MNC and Springfield NAACP, NE Black Chamber of Commerce, and Upper Hill, Old Hill, and Bay Neighborhood Councils.
    • Debate Questions - Specific plans on fundamental issues (Public Safety, Housing, Economic Development; Youth); suggestions from this meeting?
    • City Council candidates debate, Ward 4 and At-Large, Thursday, October 15, Rebecca Johnson School auditorium, 7-9:30 pm, will be co-sponsored by joint neighborhood councils of Mason Square.
    • Mayoral debate, Thursday, October 22, Rebecca Johnson School auditorium, 7-8 pm.
  • GRANTS: (Liz Stevens) Update on
    • Rail Trail grant from Mason Square Health Task Force: Announcement of hiring of Neil Greene as project consultant; clearing of trail on Humanics Day; meeting of stake-holders; council board member Ed Kelly will videotape the process
    • Tree Planting grant from CDBG improvement funds
  • MASON SQUARE LIBRARY: (Liz Stevens) -Transfer of property has been recorded at Hampden County Register of Deeds; State-approved relocation specialist will work with Urban League to relocate them.
